A two day introduction into Contraception Course for Practice Nurses, AHPs and Pharmacists. Facilitated by Valerie McMunn

This is a two-day CPD accredited taught course for health professionals who are giving advice to women regarding their contraception requirement.

These two days will cover the most used methods of contraception, giving the practitioner enough information to be able to discuss the benefits and risks of each method.

The Topics discussed will include :- the menstrual cycle related to methods of contraception, pregnancy testing, emergency contraception, oral contraceptive pills, injectable methods, intrauterine contraception and implants.

The teaching on line will include scenarios, storytelling, delegate participation and a quiz.

After having completed the 2 days the delegates should feel confident to conduct a pill check and give injectable contraception as well as be able to give correct advice related to contraception methods. Only qualified staff should apply. These 2 days are also invaluable as a full update in contraception methods.
