This course is suitable for Nurses, ANP's, Paramedics and Physician Associates who have had no formal training on MSK assessment who do not have an MSK caseload or have very limited experience in MSK practice.

Learning Outcomes Include:

 Be able to perform a basic subjective and objective assessment to identify common musculoskeletal conditions.

• Confidence in identifying potential serious pathology or masqueraders of MSK conditions.
• Understand when imaging, or laboratory investigations are indicated.
• Understand some appropriate management options including conservative (exercise, advice), pharmacological, and when referral to secondary care is indicated.
• Be aware of how to, and who to seek further advice from when unsure about diagnosis.
• Be aware of how to access national guidelines relating to assessment and management of common musculoskeletal conditions (NICE, GIRFT initiative and special interest groups).
