A Half Day Workshop - 9.30am - 12.30pm

The Data Protection Directive (1995) is being replaced by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) with effect from May 2018. GDPR is EU legislation which was adopted in April 2016 and so will become enforceable in the UK from May 2018, regardless of the UK’s position with the EU. This change in legislation intends to strengthen and unify data protection rights for all citizens residing within the EU, as well as addressing the export of data outside of the EU.

This workshop will give delegates an overview of GDPR, its strategic drivers and also its potential operational implications. After attending this workshop delegates will be able to answer the following 3 important questions;

1. Why is this change happening?
2. What does it mean for my Practice?
3. How do I prepare my Practice for the enforcement date of May 2018?

All delegates will develop an Individual Action Plan, as well as have the opportunity for peer-to-peer learning and networking.
