This interactive and practical course offers a comprehensive introduction to ECG (electrocardiogram) interpretation, designed for healthcare professionals looking to build foundational skills and confidence in reading ECGs.
The course begins with a focused review of relevant cardiac anatomy and physiology, setting the stage for understanding the electrical activity of the heart. You'll learn how to obtain a high-quality ECG, followed by a deep dive into normal ECG patterns and how to recognise key abnormalities.
Core topics include:
Understanding rhythm strips
Identifying tachyarrhythmias and bradyarrhythmias
Determining the cardiac axis
Integrating all concepts to interpret ECGs systematically
The course blends real-world examples, guided discussions, and interactive learning to support practical understanding. By the end of the session, you'll be able to apply a step-by-step approach to ECG analysis and feel more confident in recognising common and critical cardiac rhythms.
