This interactive one day course is accredited by the CPD Certification Service.  It is designed for staff in general practice who are new to the role of GP Receptionist or Medical Secretary.  The aim is to provide students with the knowledge, confidence and skills they need for a patient facing role in general practice.

It covers the role of the receptionist/medical secretary, communication skills, dealing with difficult situations, confidentiality and managing patient information.

This day will cover:

• Understanding the role of GP receptionist/medical secretary
• Developing effective communication skills
• Awareness of responsibilities regarding confidentiality and managing patient information
