About

This training is being provided in response to concerns expressed by GPs, and the related guidance issued by the ICO, regarding the proposed Accelerated Access to GP Records (AAGPR) system.  It is designed to support GP Practices and all staff likely to be involved in preparation for this system.

A Data Protection Impact Assessment is a process to help you identify and minimise the data protection risks of a project for new policies, procedures, information sharing activities, procurement, databases, data matching and any new technology that is likely to result in high risk to individuals.

This course will help you to identify when a Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA) is required.  The steps and processes you need to go through and why.  Scenarios, examples and checklist lists will be used throughout.  Providing a clear and comprehensive understanding of the need for a DPIA

Covering a range of themes:

  • Why is a DPIA is required
  • What steps and processes you need to complete
  • Understand processing and risk to individuals
  • Additional measures to mitigate and understand risk
