Half day cytology training for non medical staff

This half day is tailored for non-medically trained staff who are making appointments for women who are requesting cervical samples (smears), giving information on the phone and are checking prior notification lists, implementing audits or fail safe procedures.

The aim of the training is to educate non-medical staff in the importance in giving women correct information to prevent inappropriate appointments, misinformation which can cause time wasting for practitioners and worry to women.

The day will also help surgeries to set up appropriate audits, implement correct checking of the prior notification list and the required fail safe procedures in relation to NHS Cervical Screening Programme.

Receptionists, clerical staff, HCA’s, office managers are all welcome on this half day.
